NPPA International Crimes Department (ICD): Leadership Handover Ceremony
On July 22, 2025, the National Public Prosecution Authority (NPPA) held a formal handover ceremony to mark the leadership transition within its International Crimes Department (ICD). During the event, Mrs. Claudine Dushimimana officially transferred responsibilities to Mr. Faustin Nkusi, the newly appointed Acting ICD Coordinator.
In her remarks, the Prosecutor General commended Mrs. Dushimimana for her dedication and exemplary service, particularly her role in advancing the department’s efforts to address Genocide and crimes against humanity. She also welcomed Mr. Nkusi to his new role and encouraged him to build on the department’s achievements and continue strengthening efforts to combat international crimes.
Mrs. Dushimimana expressed heartfelt gratitude for the trust and support she received during her tenure. She shared a brief overview of the department’s accomplishments, including completed cases, ongoing investigations, and significant milestones reached under her leadership.
In his address, Mr. Nkusi thanked the NPPA leadership for the confidence placed in him. He pledged to uphold the department’s mission and emphasized his commitment to deepening collaboration with both national and international partners in the pursuit of justice for international crimes.
