NPPA Concludes Four-Day Training to Strengthen Protection of Victims and Witnesses

Today, staff of the Victims and Witnesses Protection Unit (VWPU) concluded a four-day training aimed at enhancing their knowledge, skills, and operational capacity. The training was organized by the National Public Prosecution Authority (NPPA) in partnership with the European Union (EU).

Conducted from 5 to 8 January 2025, the training equipped participants with practical skills to effectively design, implement, and manage protection measures for victims and witnesses in line with national laws and international best practices.

In her closing remarks, the Prosecutor General, Angélique HABYARIMANA encouraged participants to continuously apply the knowledge and skills acquired during the training, strengthen collaboration in their daily work, and uphold professionalism to ensure effective protection and support for victims and witnesses.

The Victims and Witnesses Protection Unit (VWPU) of the National Public Prosecution Authority plays a critical role in the criminal justice system by supporting investigations and prosecutions and ensuring the safety, dignity, and rights of victims and witnesses.
