Prosecuting Cases of Sexual Violence and Drug
UNIT IN CHARGE OF GENDER BASED VIOLENCE CASES
Background
It has become clear that the number of sexual violence cases is increasing, and prosecuting these cases requires more diligence and commitment than other types of cases. This led the National Public Prosecution Authority to a decision of establishing a Unit specifically tasked with follow up of these cases. This Unit began operating in 2005 and consists of 12 prosecutors along with the head of Unit. At each Intermediate Level of the Public Prosecution, there is a prosecutor responsible for prosecuting these cases, and the head of this Unit has an office at the headquarters of the National Public Prosecution Authority.
Objectives of the Unit
Vision of the Unit
To fight against and prosecute all forms of gender-based violence, whether against children or adults.
